Sakura Empire is the representation of the Japanese navy during WW2.
These girls usually have animal ears or tails, or are oni (a type of demon in Japanese mythology). The only current exceptions are Zuikaku, Shoukaku, and Agano.

Ayanami (綾波 "Twilled Waves") in Azur Lane represents the Fubuki-Class destroyers and was the eleventh of twenty-four Fubuki-class destroyers, built for the Imperial Japanese Navy following World War I. When introduced into services, these ships were the most powerful destroyers in the world.
